-_- Yeah some people are saying it is and they're entitled to their opinion. I personally think its just cuz they have to hate on something since its popular, however thats kind of sad cuz for once the popular thing kicks ten million asses worth of ass and is about something "nerdy" like BATMAN and not something lame. So do you think its over-hyped?
People saying Dark Knight is over-rated?? Trashing a movie just because it's popular? Why so serious? (Those of you who have watched the movie and are chuckling or ridiculing me for that line, high five!). On a more serious note, the film in my opinion was great. After Batman Begins turned Batman towards a darker theme, the Dark Knight provided the villians, gadgets, and random silent appearances we expect out of these movies. The late Heath Ledger portrayed the most genius Joker and in my opinion, the closest interpretation to the real deal. The Joker, unlike the Joker of the cartoons, pushed every character to his/her mental and emotional limits instead of just dishing out random acts of violence. This movie doesn't only offer the action rush Batman movies are known for, but you honestly develop a bond with each character as their pasts, motivations, and actions intertwine with each others. Over-rated? To me, it exceeded all of my expectations. And they were some damn high expectaions.
However, while Heath Ledger did a fantastic job being Joker, and Christian Bale doing admirable as Bruce Wayne and Batman, I was disappointed in the casting of Harvey Dent. His portrayal of Two-Face focused too much on revenge when Two Face is supposed to focus more on his conlfict between his choices with his coin. Aaron Eckhart wasn't the half-way-off-the-edge criminal Two-Face should be, but he acted more like an agent of retribution. In my opinion, Tommy Lee Jones outperformed Aaron Eckhart in being Two-Face, but considering the fact that the film wasn't featured on Two-Face, I'll cut him some slack >.<
dang whoever thinks the dark knight is over-rated is such a hater. i mean all the other batman movies sucked even thought im a huge batman fan. but this movie i would say is one of the best in the series.
over- hyped.....r u kidding me...whoever says that deserves a punch on their face cuz the movie was awesome and over rated ya right there were not a lot of bloody scenes but that all professional cuz showing too much content like that would make it just off topic and gross for some people...but the sotry line and to fully understand the movies mature content and theories of the joker...in that prespective it was perfect, and i love joker lol heath ledger is truly an awesome actor and why did he have to die
Dark Knight is the best movie to hit the box office in the last 2-3 years. Yes the movie had some problems but not with cinematography, acting etc. the only problem with it is some storyline which was only the problem because I know the whole joker, two face, batman story. But besides that opinion of mine, it's a great movie.

Ten years ago, those same people would be praising anything Batman related BECAUSE it was nerdy and underhyped.
