America’s Cartoon Network has revealed at Georgia’s Anime Weekend Atlanta convention this morning that it will end its Toonami programming block tonight after 11 years. The official announcement will be made during tonight’s final run, with an "important message" during the 10:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. Naruto has been the only Japanese series in this Saturday evening block recently, but Toonami used to host a variety of Japanese-animated programs when it began as a weekday afternoon block in 1997. Among those titles were Voltron, Robotech, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Ronin Warriors, G-Force: Guardians of Space
If they made this announcement a few years ago, back when Toonami was still a kick ass programming block, I would be upset. But with the shows they were putting up recently, I can't bring myself to care if it gets cancelled or not.
It's sad cause Toonami is what I first got my anime watching from. Then I remember them switching it with Miguzi and that ended quickly. >> Ive got to agree with fshracr though. It's been playing some really dumb stuff cept for Naruto. RIP Toonami Hey and howd you find this out?
goodbye toonami

man toonami was how I really got in to anime but oh well
cartoon network is dead to me now. I don't even watch it anymore. I only go to the adultswim website to watch their anime now.
