Sporting Anime

now i added suzuka and yes those are all the episodes for it sad i know.its pretty cool its about Yamato Akitsuki who moves to his aunts apartment building and indoor-bath complex in tokyo whiole walking past the school he see this one smexy chick (Suzuka Asahina) and falls for her. anyways this anime is about them and also about track-n-field so yeah let me know what you think.

well i added all the episodes of whistle! one of my favorite animes and i was kinda sad when i found out that those were all the episodes for it. anywaysthis discussion is about that anime i want to know what you guys thought about it and if you liked it as much as i did.Thanks to boxerbilly for starting this group because even thought its a small one im going to help make this group a fun one.

Okay, okay...so GTO isn't really a sport anime unless you count the fact that the hero is a black belt martial artist. However it IS one of my favourites despite that. Hajime no Ippo, known in English as the Fighting Spirit was my first exposure to sporting anime. It did not take me long to realise that I was hooked on the bitter/sweet adventures of young Ippo who, like many boxers, began his career as a victim to bullies and who finds in boxing, not a means of revenge against those bullies but a way of finding inner strength and meaning. For Ippo, boxing brings him alive. The series is an emotional roller coaster with humour and tragedy both to be found in realistic proportions. The repeptitive animation can be forgiven when the plot is so fast-moving and the characters so likeable (or dislikable). Thee have been several spin offs from the 'Ippo' series including 2 movie-length offerings and several vide games. The most recent is a Wii boxing game How about you? Welcome. I believe that anime and sport were made for each other. Anime (and manga) specialise in that quality of a human being to triumph over adversity and win against the odds. To rise above the mundane and the haters and to keep your eyes on the prize. Anime also gives credit to the quiet wisdom of older characters - something often overlooked in modern society. I also like the way sports anime gives time to explaining technique as well as to plot etc. So if u like anime ...or sport... try both together. You won't be disappointed!
