Some of you might be wondering, what is this exactly? Newsreel Anaconda is a 30 minute show about the life of U.S. soldiers in Iraq produced completely by other soldiers stationed in Iraq. The first 15 minutes is a light-hearted spoof of Jay Leno's "Jaywalking". Soldiers are quizzed on miitary knowledge and history, sometimes with humorous results. The second half of the show is series of news stories produced by the men and women in uniform. These soldiers are combat correspondents. The news portion of the show was broadcast regularly on Armed Forces Network (AFN) wordwide. Excerpts of this series have been used by the international media and documentary film makers. This is the first time the show has been posted in it's entirety on the internet. Broadcast quality packages, b-roll, and extended interviews are available free of charge . Clips can be downloaded in high-resolution or transmitted via satellite world-wide.
