- Description
- Returning home from the Gulf war David began his reintegration into civilian society with his wife and five year old son. This was brought to a sudden halt one evening when two men confronted him while he headed home from work. They attempted to rob him, but David was immediately thrown back into his military mindset. The ensuing fight resulted in one assailant escaping while the other was accidentally killed. Once the case came to trial, a plea self-defense didn't do much for the judge or the jury. David served 10 years in Rikers Island Prison counting the days till he would be released. When David got out he was confronted with a new face of hardship. His wife had passed away from cancer during his incarceration. His son Junior who was twelve at the time of his mothers death, had gone to live with his disabled grandfather Jose.
