Having reached is 13th (and perhaps FINAL) incarnation, The Doctor traces an extremely dangerous weapon to Earth. Upon his arrival, he meets college student Jessica Ridgemond. Jessica is running away from her life, her domineering step-father, and his oddly attentive wife (Jessica's formerly independent mother).
As the weapon slowly releases itself, the Doctor and Jessica must race against time to prevent a catastrophic massacre.
A dark chapter from The Doctor's past resurfaces, and forces him to re-examine his lives and the choices that he's made as he and Jessica try to put their demons to rest and find their place in the universe.
