- Description
- On November 10th the ultralight-guided Whooping crane migration was finally able to leave Green Co., WI - the air temperature was a frigid 22F. Cranes normally fly with their longs legs extended behind them. On this morning they were tucking them up to their chests to try to keep them warm. The ultralight method is being used to return a migratory population of these endangered birds to eastern North America. www.operationmigration.org The 2008 ultralight-guided migration of young Whooping cranes is currently underway - please join us In The Field to follow along. http://www.operationmigration.org/Field_Journal.html
