- The following is a message to anonymous, from anonymous. Hello. There are two parts to the battle against the current incarnation of the Church of Scientology. The first part is simple. It is a contest between us and our own weakness. Victory here means continuing to pay attention and contribute to the cause. Defeat means giving up and losing interest. We are currently winning this part of the battle. We will continue to do so for some time. Even the most cynical, jaded, "internet is serious business" style nerds are excitedly bouncing up and down in their chairs over our coming victory over the forces of the Church of Scientology. However, even a seemingly simple victory such as this is not guaranteed. This is where you come in. You may not be an elite hacker. You may not have any media contacts. But if you do something to make another human being sit in their chair and pay attention, you are contributing. If you get out of your chair and bring the internet out onto the streets, you are contributing. Without contributions such as these, eventually the most dedicated anonymous who are doing the heavy lifting will lose interest. If you are anonymous, and you are watching this, and you wish to see anonymous succeed, your job is obvious and simple. Contribute. The second part of the battle is more difficult. It is a contest between us and the Church of Scientology - not of weapons or might, but of public relations. Imagine for a moment, someone's grandfather. He does not understand the internet. He gets his news from traditional sources such as television, the radio, and newspapers. If television, the radio, and newspapers say that dangerous terrorist hackers are infringing on the freedom of religion of the poor oppressed Scientologists, he will have no reason to disagree. If this happens, we lose. The Church of Scientology has an innate advantage here. They have expensive suits, buildings, money, and attractive spokespeople. We have none of these things.
