anime to check out: Full metal panic (all series), cardcaptor sakura, samaurai deeper kyo, fruits basket, haibane renmei (only if you like to make your own interpretation), princess tutu, kaleido star if you liked princess tutu, kaze no stigma.
pan's labyrynth, labyrynth, the dark crystal, mirrormask and legend are some cool ones.
most everything... except country *shudders*
