Series Spotlight: Higurashi and Umineko
Higurashi no naku koro ni (When they cry) is a new classic- one of the best animes of this decade- I moved it to the front with its two following seasons- Kai (season 2) and Umineko which is ongoing. You definitely need to check it out no matter what you're into, it appeals to all fans! We're missing the mini-season Higurashi Rei btw :(

10/10 Dam, i've just recently been watching higurashi naku koro ni. and it is A.W.E.S.O.M.E.! Dude im only half way in and my jaw is disjointed from the blood induced carnage! O_O
Yeah yeah I know I've never seen anime balance blood mystery thrills and so much more like Higurashi! Season 2: Kai will confront and go back to everything you love in S1. It almost made me cry in the middle and end so beautiful. And it goes by fast how often do you want to see a show without stopping? Take the Mio and Shio Advice and see Higurashi!
I love Higurashi but please don't bother in watching Rei as every episode was filler and not very good filler at that, the story also didn't promise what Kai ended with which I won't spoil for those who haven't finished it, the only cool thing I found in Rei which I'll say as it doesn't really affect the Higurashi series per say, is in the 5th episode where Rika refers to herself as the witch of Bernkastel, which for those who have been keeping up with Umineko might find to be a pretty intresting name.
Also to those watching Umineko, does anybody else feel that the 2nd arc of the show was incredibly boring and irrelevant, I have no complaints about the 1st arc but as it was phenominal, but I feel when they tried to reboot the story it was more or less what for we already know who the person behind all the killings is, I think this anime's downfall was that they gave away to much early in the series.
Actually yeah I haven't finished arc 2 yet but yes it has been a little boring and even kind of emoish... HOWEVER! I think the point of this arc is they're expanding on the characters and such like in Higurashi for something big they're building up too. And can't wait to see more Joker-like murders in arc 3 lol, sounds bad but oh well ^^
Higurashi no noku koro ni is one of the best animes i have seen, the twist are the best part of the show and when Rena goes crazy:)
