- Description
- Future market traders watch the weather to determine crop yields. There have always been extremes in weather patterns that cause the market to fluctuate, but what will global warming do to key crops. A study of weather data of 55 years determined that temperatures exceeding 29 degrees Celsius dramatically reduce crop yields. Average crop yields are predicted to decrease 30% â 46% before the end of the century. Commodity grain and corn-based ethanol prices are likely to rise. Next month the U.S. Green Building Council will hold their annual GreenBuild International Conference and Expo in Phoenix, AZ. The event runs from Nov. 11th through the 13th with over 1800 exhibitors and a keynote speaker former VP Al Gore.
