- The 6th Annual CFA-Iams Cat Championship had New Yorkers and Cat lovers feline fine on October 18-19, 1008, at one of the most prestigious cat shows. The show put the spotlight on hundreds of show cats representing the 41 pedigreed breeds recognized by the Cat Fanciers Association. Among the breeds that were featured at the show include the Japanese Bobtail, American Curl, Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Cornish Rex, Sphynx, Siamese, and Persian. Visitors also had a chance to watch the amazing Iams Trained Cats perform Olympic-style tricks, learn about keeping their cats healthy from Dr. Bernadine Cruz D.V.M.; and take home their own kitty from the Adopt-A-Cat booth with the Mayor's Alliance. New to the show this year, attendees even had a chance to exercise their voting rights a little early by participating in the Purrfect Presidential election! A Bombay cat named Barack Obama and a British Shorthair named John McCain were competing for the presidential title. Barack Obama, the Democat came out ahead of the Republicat McCain by a whisker!
