Long before being "green" was popular, in the early 1980's Harry Braun ran for US Congress in Arizona's 1st Congressional District on a platform of Renewable Energy including Solar-Hydrogen Energy. Harry wrote the book "The Phoenix Project" and later went on to run for President of the United States.
