[J Movie] Iden & Tity
Synopsis Directional debut by the legendary Tomorowo “Tetsuo” Taguchi, once member of punk/rock band “Bachikaburi”, is a great tale about, as the title suggests, keeping your identity in a world where money and fame rules undisputed. A truly enchanting film that’s definitely one of a kind. Part rock & roll fantasy, part youth rebellion picture, part teenage love story, it’s based on a Japanese graphic novel with a strong cult following. A young, budding rock star torn between writing meaningful lyrics and churning out catchy pop hits begins to hallucinate, believing that the spirit of Bob Dylan is guiding his career and personal life. Dylan himself was so touched by the film that he gave the director permission to use his song lyrics and image in the film.
